FAq/Lag

We are happy to assist with inquiries, however, we may limit our volume due to the following: Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:

I'd like to place an order. When will you ship it? We contact all live buyers via text message within 24 hours of purchase to coordinate delivery. We are happy to ship at your convenience, but must also take existing shipping schedules and weather into consideration. We ship Tuesday and Wednesday, and can ship at temperatures 32F-85F. If the weather is bad, we will hold your order until the temperature improves.

We have already made plans to ship your order. Can you assure us that you still have those plans? The plans we made with you regarding shipping are still intact.

I did not receive a confirmation email or tracking information. Can you help? Sometimes our emails end up in the recipient's junk/spam folder. Please take a look there. If you did not use the correct email address, we will not be able to send a copy to another email address.

My tracking doesn't seem to be updating. What's going on? Orders are usually received by 7pm EST. Please check again after this time has passed.

What do you feed your animal? We feed our spider with assorted feeders. We feed every 2 weeks. Spiders are often overfed, but 2 times a month is enough. The abdomen should not be wider than the carapace. Always provide clean water.

Can I add something to an existing order? Yes! Just let us know or do local pick up and it will be added to your current order.

Do you currently have (animals/item) in stock? If we have animals/items in our listings, they are available for purchase. We do not advertise out-of-stock items.

How much does (animals/item) cost? See offer for pricing.

Why is shipping so expensive? We ship live animals via FedEx Priority Overnight. If you went to FedEx and requested a similar service, it would often cost you over $100. Because of our sales volume, we've been able to negotiate discounts on our shipping rates and pass the savings on to you. In fact, the most common place you'll incur losses is shipping and material costs. Each shipment also includes a LAG, which is essentially built-in insurance for your order.

What is your LAG policy?

All animals for sale come with a 100% Live Delivery Guarantee (LAG). This means that if you order via overnight delivery, your animal is guaranteed to arrive alive. This is guaranteed, there are no exceptions*. This means that we will also honour your purchase in the following cases: Carrier delays – LAGs are covered Package damage by courier – delays are covered Carrier errors – lost or missing package – LAGs are covered In the unfortunate event that your package is voided (DOA), you can make a claim by: Contact us via email/SMS. This should be completed within a reasonable time (4 hours). Please attach a photo as proof of DOA. If compensation for a LAG is appropriate, the buyer has several options: Refund for the cost of the animal or store credit. The risk of delivery and delays is 100% on us. If there are issues with delivery, we will work with you. *Orders cannot be delivered to gated communities - if you live in a gated community, please be prepared to receive your order at a FedEx center. *We cannot adjust/update delivery by the recipient. This often results in delays or conflicts with the original delivery schedule we provide.Shipping is only refundable if your entire order is DOA.

Which spiders are good for beginners? I love these because they are happy to do whatever they can to encourage new owners. But the answer is the same: Aphonopelma, Avicularia, Brachypelma, and Grammostola are all good starts. Also, consider buying something bigger; those over 2 inches usually still have their adult coloring, are more hardy and tolerant to a variety of conditions, and are better for display.
